Springfield-based Convoy of Hope is sending help to people affected by a deadly tornado outbreak in Alabama.
It’s sending a tractor-trailer load of supplies to Lee County, Alabama, where one and possibly two tornadoes killed at least 23 people – including some children.
The National Weather Service says the biggest twister was an EF-4 with winds around 170 mph.
The storms spawned twisters in parts of Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina.
It was the deadliest day of tornadoes in the U.S. in nearly six years.
