(KTTS News) — It’s been a dangerous commute so far this morning.
By 6 a.m. there were numerous crashes across the Springfield metro area.
Freezing rain overnight has created icy roads.
The MoDOT Traveler map shows roads are covered this morning.
Drivers are being asked to stay off the roads and work from home if possible.
Many schools are closed and businesses have either closed or delayed opening.
