(KTTS News) — Charges have been filed against a man who Springfield Police say tried to kidnap a child at the Walmart Neighborhood Market on West Grand.
Court records say Nelson Vrana, 58, from Springfield picked the boy up while he was next to his father at the self-checkout and tried to walk out of the store with him.
The boy’s father grabbed his son before Vrana got away.
When police arrested him, Vrana denied trying to take the boy, calling it a misunderstanding.
