(KTTS News) – A man was arrested on Wednesday in connection to an armed robbery that took place at a Dollar Tree store in Springfield.
The suspect, 31-year-old Nicholas Shields, is being charged with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action.
According to police, Shields flashed a knife handle to threaten the store workers on September 6, and left with a total of $35.67.
The police were able to trace the car used in the crime to a residence in the East Morningside area and matched it with the vehicle Shields was driving.
Police were also able to locate the knife that was used in the robbery.
