(KTTS News) — A bill on Governor Parson’s desk would let public schools and charter schools offer a class on the Bible.
The class could only be offered as an elective, meaning it would not be a requirement.
The bill would also prevent schools from saying which translation students can use to study the Bible.
A Missouri State University associate professor of religious studies says she recommends schools use someone with a degree in religious studies – or a knowledge of Greek and Hebrew – to teach the class.
