Man Charged With Making Threats In Dallas County

(KTTS News) — A man has been charged with leaving a threatening note in a library book in Buffalo.

Dallas County prosecutors have filed charges against Matthew Fleetwood.

Police said a letter was found claiming there were seven devices placed around the city.

Officials searched school and government buildings but did not find anything.

Fleetwood is accused of making terrorist threats and making a false bomb threat.

The following is from a Facebook post by the Dallas County Sheriff:

On 05/09/2023, the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office and Buffalo Police department responded to the Dallas County Library about a letter that had been placed in the book drop off.
The letter made reference to there being seven devices in and around the city of Buffalo with one device in the school described as being a chemical device that could leave a hole the size of a football field.
The author of the letter said to call him “Jack”, he went on to say he was paid to kill Matthew Fleetwood.
The author had a list of demands including locking Matthew Fleetwood and his wife in room 205 at the motel next to Wal-Mart for 2 months, $1.5 million dollars to Matthew Fleetwood for his pain and suffering.
The last demand would be to allow Matthew Fleetwood and his wife to visit with the children in the hotel once a week.
We began a systematic search of all school building, while the search was ongoing Dallas County Deputies found and arrested Matthew Fleetwood who is now charged with four counts of Terrorist threat 2nd degree and one count of Making A False Bomb Threat.
Fleetwood has a bond of $75,000.00.
There were no devices found in any school building, daycare’s, County government buildings, or City Government buildings.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty by a court of law.
