(KTTS News) — The Christian County Sheriff has released the name of the man who was shot and killed by a deputy during a disturbance Friday on the square in Ozark.
Travis L. Bullington, 52, from Sparta died at the hospital.
The sheriff says Bullington was seen on top of a woman around 4 p.m. Friday.
Deputies tried to break up the fight, but Bullington pulled out a gun and shot the woman.
A deputy then shot Bullington.
The woman is in the hospital in critical condition.
No deputies were hurt.
The sheriff says there was a 17-month-old child involved in the incident.
The child, who was not hurt, has been placed in a home with the Missouri Children’s Division.

The Christian County Sheriff is investigating a deadly shooting involving a sheriff’s deputy.
It happened Friday evening on the square in Ozark.
The sheriff says it began with a domestic disturbance call where one person shot the other.
The deputy then returned fire, hitting the suspect.
The suspect and the victim in the disturbance call were taken to the hospital.
The suspect died.
There’s no word yet on the victim’s injuries.
The deputy was not hurt.
