(KTTS News) — Springfield City Council votes tonight on a new sales tax that would make improvements to the land where developers plan to build a new Buc-ee’s convenience store.
Buc-ee’s plans to build a 53,000 square foot convenience store with 100 gas pumps at I-44 and Mulroy Road.
The city will consider whether to approve a 5/8-cent sales tax for community improvement district sales tax would pay for road improvements and electric and utility lines at the site.
KY3 says the city will use the sales tax to pay for $4.1 million dollars in improvements at the location.
Buc-ee’s is expected to create 200 jobs and bring an estimated $30-million to the economy every year.
