Springfield Police Headquarters To Reduce Operating Hours

The Springfield Police Department is cutting back on its operating hours for the lobby and telephone reporting at police headquarters.

Police say the reduced hours are because of staffing issues.

The lobby on East Chestnut will now be open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The changes take effect on Monday.

Press Release

Effective March 14, 2022, the Springfield Police Department is reducing the hours of operation for the police headquarters lobby and telephone reporting access because of staffing issues. With fewer non-sworn personnel available, providing lobby and phone service for extended hours and days of the week is no longer feasible.

The front lobby, located at 321 E. Chestnut Expressway, will be available to the public from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and the telephone reporting number, 417-864-1810, will reflect the same hours.

Online reporting is available for the following:

  • Forgery
  • Fraudulent Use of a Credit Device
  • Graffiti
  • Harassment
  • Identity Theft
  • Lost Property
  • Past Disturbance
  • Stealing
  • Stealing from a Vehicle
  • Vandalism
  • Supplement to filed reports

File reports online at springfieldmo.gov/spd and search ‘file a report.’

For emergencies or immediate assistance, please call 911.
