Springfield Police say an assault on the parking lot of Rumors Cabaret on South Glenstone is now a homicide.
Police found Jeffrey Brent, 37, from Springfield with life-threatening injuries last month.
He died this week.
Police have a suspect but no arrests have been made.
This incident marks 2022’s third homicide in Springfield.

On January 30, 2022, at approximately 1:23 a.m., Springfield Police Officers responded to a 911 call for an assault in the parking lot of Rumors Cabaret at 1750 S. Glenstone Avenue. When officers arrived, they located a male who had suffered life-threatening injuries. The male was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
On February 20, 2022, the victim, identified as Jeffrey K. Brent, 37, from Springfield, Missouri, succumbed to his injuries. Notifications have been made to Brent’s family.
During the investigation, the Springfield Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit identified a suspect in this case, but no arrest has been made at this time.

This incident marks the third homicide in Springfield for 2022.
