A pedestrian is dead after a crash on I-44 in Phelps County.
The Highway Patrol says 33-year-old Jessica Damitz from Kansas City was hit by a semi Sunday morning around the Jerome and Dixon exit at mile marker 174.
The crash caused major backups for several hours.
