Republican State Senator Eric Burlison is running for Congress.
He made the announcement Wednesday morning on KSGF Mornings with Nick Reed.
Burlison says he hopes people will vote for him based on his record.
“I feel like passing things like (the) Constitutional Carry (law), being the guy that got Stand Your Ground law in place in Missouri, getting 2nd Amendment Preservation Act (passed), tort reform issues, passing Hailey’s Law, eliminating the helmet law…all of these kind of major issues weren’t easy. And so I hope that voters say, yeah, I’m proud of what that guy’s done, and I wanna see him do more.”
Burlison, who’s from Battlefield, faces his friend, Ash Grove State Senator Mike Moon, in the primary.
The men are running for the seat currently held by Southwest Missouri Congressman Billy Long.
Long is running for U.S. Senate.
