Springfield-Greene County Health Director Katie Towns says now is the time for people to get the COVID-19 vaccine, now that the Pfizer vaccine has received full approval.
“The granting of this license by the FDA should give us great confidence that this vaccine is safe. We are excited by this important news and hopeful that it will ease your concerns to those who have not yet been vaccinated.”
Tows says the health department has ample supply of the vaccine.
“I’m calling on the 55-percent of the eligible Greene County residents who are unvaccinated that want to take advantage of this fully FDA approved vaccine to seek out one of our vaccination opportunities this week.”

Towns says the department will be ready to provide the recommended booster shot for people who have had the doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine.
