Police Identify Homicide Victim In Springfield Shooting

Springfield Police have identified the victim of a homicide investigation.

Dylan Hill from Springfield was shot to death overnight at the Welcome Inn motel near I-44 and Highway 65.

He was 26.

Police have a person of interest in the case.

On March 25, 2021, at 12:45 a.m., Springfield Police were dispatched to the Welcome Inn located at 3550 E. Evergreen, after a 911 caller reported that a male subject had been shot. When officers arrived, they found a deceased male inside of a motel room who had suffered a gunshot wound.

The victim was identified as Dylan A. Hill, a 26-year-old male from Springfield, MO. Next of kin notifications have been made.

The Springfield Police Department identified a person of interest in the case and detectives are currently interviewing that person. The case will be presented to the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office for review and potential filing of criminal charges.

Detectives continue to investigate and are asking anyone who has information about this incident to contact the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810 or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 417-869-TIPS (8477).

This incident marks the fifth homicide investigated by SPD in 2021.
