A report released by the state auditor’s office gives the city of Forsyth a poor rating.
Auditor Nicole Galloway says her office confirms more than $3,400 is missing from the city.
The money was reported missing by the city in October 2019.
Authorities interviewed the former utility clerk, Carla Combs, after more than $2,000 in utility payments were not deposited.
The master key from the city clerk’s desk was also reported missing, along with more than $1,400 from the city vault.
City leaders are working with law enforcement, but so far no charges have been filed.
