Springfield Municipal Court Resuming Normal Operations Monday

Starting Monday, Feb. 1, the Springfield Municipal court will resume normal operations.

The court says it is taking measures to prevent COVID-19 exposures.

The court will not allow anyone to enter the courthouse if they have:

  • Traveled to any foreign country within the previous two weeks.
  • People who live with or have had close contact with someone who has traveled to a foreign country in the past two weeks.
  • People who have been asked to self-quarantine or isolate by a doctor, hospital or health agency until that isolation period is up.
  • People who have COVID-19, or have had contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with the coronavirus until the proper isolation period of exposure is complete.
  • People with symptoms of COVID-19 including, a fever of 100.4 degrees or higher, cough, shortness of breath, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, or a new loss of tastes or smell.

If you have a case in court and fall under those, you’re told to contact the court by phone at 417-864-1890 or by email at municourt@springfieldmo.gov to receive further instructions.

The court is also implementing masking requirements with excepts such as health or other conditions. Masks can be provided by the court but will be “one-use” masks.

In addition, the court is also requiring social distancing, has a security checkpoint protocol, and occupancy limits.
