Greene County has begun dismantling the temporary jail it had built on Booneville Avenue.
The temporary facility, made of repurposed trailer units, was built to hold prisoners who wouldn’t fit into the larger jail.
They are now being held in temporary cells on Campbell and Nichols. A larger permanent jail is being built near Division and Haseltine Road.
