Early data from the Missouri Department of Conservation reports a near-record high for this fall firearms deer season.
Preliminary estimates show that 199,427 deer were harvested from Nov. 10-20, with around half of those being antlered bucks.
The standing record is 204,668 deer harvested over ten days in 2012.
Deer hunting season is estimated to generate around 1 billion dollars in increased revenue for Missouri.
The archery hunting season will be running until January 19th.
