The Branson Board of Aldermen has been hearing from the public as it considers a face mask ordinance.
Former pastor Charles Kurtman from Branson says his concern is that liberty is slipping away.
“For decades in this country, we have had our freedoms eroded a little bit day by day, week by week, month by month, year by year. They’ve been slipped away from us. But now of late, they’re being wrested away from us. And that’s got to come to a stop.”
Brian Seitz is running for state representative in Branson.
He says requiring people to wear face masks goes too far.
“Let me state for the record I am not anti-mask. Though the science behind the effectiveness wearing a mask is widely debated and the act could be detrimental to the wearer, I support the freedom to choose to wear one.”
As proposed, the Branson face mask ordinance would last for 30 days.
