A Me Too Springfield motorcade will take place this Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. cruising down some of the city’s main roads.
The group will decorate cars, bringing awareness to sexual assault survivors, protesting victim blaming as well as a lack of funding for rape kit testing.
The group also calls for Title IX reform.
The organization will meet at the parking lot where K-Mart used to be along South Glenstone around 12:30 p.m.

SPRINGFIELD, MO — Me Too Springfield invites the community to come together on Saturday, June 27th from 1-2pm as we cruise down some of Springfield’s main roads. We will be decorating our cars and spreading the word to fellow drivers who see us that NO MEANS NO, and that this virus won’t stop us from standing with sexual assault survivors. We will be bringing awareness to the prevalence of sexual assault survivors in our community, as well as protesting victim blaming, lack of funding for rape kit testing, and calling for Title IX reform.
President of Me Too Springfield, Jordan Harris, says, “We understand that some cannot risk exposing themselves to COVID-19, and want to give everyone the opportunity to safely show their support. Because both issues disproportionately impact those with disabilities and lack of access to healthcare, those that are at the highest risk for coronavirus and sexual assault are very similar. We wanted to show support for both.”
We will meet and line up in the parking lot of 3101 S. Glenstone Ave. (where K-Mart used to be) at 12:30pm, where we will pass out a printed map of the route, as well as a limited supply of window chalk for those who have not already decorated. After the motorcade, we will meet back at 3101 S. Glenstone, where participants will get a free bag of Doc Rob’s Kettle Corn and have the opportunity to further support Me Too Springfield!
All Me Too Springfield personnelle passing out supplies will be taking extra health precautions, including wearing masks and gloves.
