(Springfield’s News Talk 104.1) – The Greene County Sheriff’s Office is warning about a new scam that is going around.

According to reports, citizens have gotten calls from a scammer claiming to be an official at the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.

The GCSO says the scammer may try several lines on you about warrants or jury duty and try to convince you to send money somewhere.

GCSO wants to remind you to, “Never give out financial information to anyone who contacts you. Even if you are expecting a call to discuss personal or financial matters, make sure you know who you are talking to.”
