(Springfield’s News Talk 104.1) – A West Plains woman has been sentenced for possessing methamphetamine to distribute it.

39-year-old Amanda J. Jones was sentenced to 18 years and four months without parole.

On March 30, 2022, a law enforcement officer from the Howell County Sheriff’s Department pulled over Jones while she was driving a vehicle without a functioning light on the rear license plate.

Upon searching the vehicle, the officer discovered 226.72 grams of methamphetamine, 210 fentanyl capsules, 12.62 grams of cocaine and $2,615 in cash.

Jones was on bond after being charged in state court with drug trafficking and illegally possessing firearms.

In June 2022, Jones was arrested again, while on bond, with methamphetamine and fentanyl.

Police say that Jones sold fentanyl that ultimately caused the death of a West Plains man in September 2020.
