(KTTS News) — A new study by Missouri’s Department of Elementary and Secondary Education finds no signs that four-day school weeks affect student learning one way or the other.
Some schools have been using four-day school weeks as a way to hire and retain teachers.
But DESE says there’s no indication it’s actually helping.
In fact, the department says most of the schools that went to four-day weeks after the pandemic were larger districts, not more rural ones.
Some schools that went to four-day school weeks have now returned to the original five-day school week.
