(KTTS News) — A woman from Arkansas is in the Christian County jail after leading Nixa Police on a chase for more than eight miles.

Police were called to the Blu Current Credit Union on West Mt. Vernon to investigate a fraud case.

The woman tried to hit an officer with her vehicle.

She was stopped on Highway 65 around the 34.5 mile marker.

The woman also had a nationwide warrant for her arrest.

Charges are pending for an Arkansas woman now in the Christian County jail after an alleged fraud attempt and police chase today.

At 1:27pm Nixa Police were dispatched to a report of forgery/fraud at the Blu Current Credit Union located at 310 W. Mt. Vernon.

Officers arrived on scene and while an officer was attempting to talk to the suspect, she allegedly attempted to strike the officer while fleeing in her vehicle.

This initiated a chase involving 3 Nixa Police units.

The suspect drove approximately 8.5 miles in a chase which lasted about 5 minutes, ending on US 65 at mile marker 34.5 when the driver pulled over and stopped.

The suspect was taken into custody and taken to the Christian County jail.

She had a nationwide warrant as well as local charges.

Other area law enforcement agencies may also be investigating her for similar issues which may result in charges from multiple jurisdictions.
