(KTTS News) – New evidence has surfaced in a cold case from 2013 in Camden County.
Over the weekend, James Hinkle, a freelance drone pilot, contacted a property owner after spotting a vehicle submerged in a pond.
The property owner agreed to let Hinkle investigate the area. Camden County deputies also joined Hinkle and the property owner, and divers were able to search the pond.
The divers confirmed that the license plate on the submerged car matched the plate of Donald L Erwin’s vehicle. Erwin went missing December 29th, 2013.
The investigators retrieved the car from the pond and informed Erwin’s family about the development.
The authorities are still processing the vehicle for evidence and searching the surrounding areas for any possible remains of Erwin.
