(KTTS News) — A Hermann police officer who was critically wounded in a shootout in March is finally coming home.

Officer Adam Sullentrup has been in a special hospital in Denver since he was shot in the head.

Sullentrup and his partner, Detective Sergeant Mason Griffith, were trying to arrest a man at a Casey’s convenience store when they were were shot.

Griffith was killed.

Kenneth Lee Simpson is charged with the shootings.

He could face the death penalty if he’s convicted.
