It turned out to be a big Sunday night…not only for the Kansas City Chiefs with their win over the New York Jets but for NBC as well.
It seems that Taylor Swift’s being presence to watch Travis Kelce & the Chiefs paid off in the ratings. This past Sunday’s broadcast of “Sunday Night Football” was the second most watched game of 2023. The highest rated game was this year’s Super Bowl which had just over 115 Million viewers who watched the Chiefs defeat the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35.
On Sunday night, the broadcast peaked at 29.4 million viewers and averaged 27 million viewers overall. It’s second most watched game of the season with the most watched being the Kansas City Chiefs vs the Detriot Lions on opening night of the season. That game, which also aired on NBC, averaged 27.5 million viewers.
So far, Kelce’s jersery sales are way up, Chiefs games are gathering more viewers and Swifties are watching with great interest (as many others are) to see where the reported but not confirm romance between Travis and Taylor goes from here.
