(KTTS News) — Southwest Missouri Congressman Eric Burlison was the only Missouri representative in the U.S. House to vote against the stopgap spending bill designed to avoid a government shutdown.
Burlison, a Republican from Springfield, is a member of the hardline House Freedom Caucus, which is staunchly conservative.
The 11th hour 45-day stopgap spending bill was a compromise between Republicans and Democrats to keep the government running.
Missouri has a total of eight representatives in the U.S. House.
Instead of staying in D.C. and fighting to pass the rest of the appropriations bills, Congress is kicking the can down the road by passing a 45 day Continuing Resolution, extending the Woke Biden Policies for an additional month and a half.
