(KTTS News) — A spokesman for the Springfield-Greene County Health Department has resigned over alleged discrimination.
The Springfield Daily Citizen says Aaron Schekorra, who is gay, cited harassment and hostility as the reasons he stepped away.
He also claims the government failed to address the issues on his behalf.
The former public servant announced his resignation this week on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
As I’ve posted on here before, I have received significant amounts of harassment and several threats because I am a gay man working in a visible, public position. Through that, I received so much support from my coworkers and supervisors at Health. The City? Not so much.
