(KTTS News) — A chemical plant in Verona is contesting nearly $400,000 in fines from the U.S. Department of Labor.
OSHA cited BCP Ingredients last month for 16 violations.
The plant was cited for 24 violations in 2021.
Federal investigators believe the health and safety of employees at the plant is at risk because of ethylene oxide exposure, a toxic chemical tied to cancer.
The case now goes to the independent Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission.
