(KTTS) – A judge has sentenced a Springfield man to 15 years in prison for a fatal crash in 2020.
23-year-old Andrew Hammond had pleaded guilty in April to second degree murder and other charges.
Prosecutors said Andrew Hammond was trying to get away in October, 2020 as police were investigating a report of someone breaking into cars at an apartment complex.
Hammond failed to stop at an intersection and collided with an SUV at Bennett and Fairway.
The SUV was driven by 64-year-old Beth Adams, who later died at an area hospital.
