(KTTS News) — Springfield Police are trying to find two more people involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash.

Sandra Brown was walking across the road near Fremont and Lindberg Saturday night when she was hit by a motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist, 56-year-old Rodney Shires, was arrested and is facing charges.

But police are looking for two more people, a man and a woman, who were last seen in a red 2005-2010 Chevy Cobalt.

It hit Brown after the motorcycle did and kept going.

The Springfield Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a second vehicle and two individuals involved in the April 29 crash that killed Sandra Brown.

This red 2005-2010 Chevrolet Cobalt was seen hitting Brown after the motorcycle and fled the scene.

There was a male driver and female passenger.

If you recognize the vehicle or either individual, please call the Springfield Police Department’s Traffic Unit at 417-864-1447 or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 417-869-TIPS.

On April 29, 2023, at 9:51 p.m., officers with the Springfield Police Department responded to a pedestrian hit by a vehicle near Fremont Ave. and Lindberg St.

Sandra Brown, 59, from Springfield, was walking eastbound across the road, when she was struck by a yellow 1994 Honda motorcycle southbound on Fremont Ave. at Lindberg St. The motorcyclist fled the scene before officers arrived.

Brown was pronounced deceased on scene, her family has been notified.

Rodney Shires, a 56 year old from Springfield, was identified as the driver of the motorcycle. Shires was located by officers at his residence and arrested. After being treated at the hospital for minor injuries, Shires was booked into the Greene County Jail.

The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation. Anyone with any information about the crash is encouraged to contact the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810.

This is Springfield’s 13th traffic fatality in 2023.
