Our hometown Springfield Cardinals have new owners.  The St. Louis Cardinals have announced the sale of the Springfield Cardinals to Diamond Baseball Holdings.  The team will continue as a Double A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals and will continue under the current leadership of VP/General Manager Dan Reiter. The team, which recently agreed to a long-term deal keeping them at Hammons Field, made the announcement this morning.

Diamond Baseball Holdings owns and operates a number of minor league baseball clubs affiliated with Major League Baseball include the Memphis Redbirds, the St. Louis Cardinals Triple-A affiliate.

So, it’s business as usual at Hammons Field.  The Springfield Cardinals return home tomorrow to host the Arkansas Travelers for six game.  And our Cardinals will work on building upon their four wins in Wichita this past week. Perhaps a hot dog & game tomorrow for lunch?  First pitch on Great Southern Bank $2 Tuesday happens at 11:30 a.m.
