(KTTS News) — The National Weather Service has expanded the number of counties under advisories for Thursday’s expected winter storm.

The Winter Storm Watch is in effect Thursday, and now includes counties along and north of Highway 60.

Up to four inches of snow could fall in those areas.

A Wind Chill Warning runs from noon Thursday to noon Saturday for counties along and north of Highway 60, where wind chills could plummet to as cold as -35 degrees.

It takes the place of the Wind Chill Watch.

The National Weather Service says over the last 75 years, there have only been seven days where the wind chill was -30 or colder.

The last time it happened was in 1989.

The National Weather Service says Thursday’s storm could also cause scattered power outages and slick driving conditions.

Local officials are warning people to plan ahead and be careful if you have to go outside.
