(KTTS News) — The Springfield School Board has approved putting a $220-million dollar bond proposal on the April ballot.

The money will be used to build new Pipkin and Reed middle schools.

It would also pay for storm shelters at Cowden, Holland, Mann, Pittman, Watkins, and Wilder elementary schools.

And it would pay for safety and security upgrades across the district.

The bond issue would be paid for by extending the current 73-cent tax levy for another four years.
