(KTTS News) — A Greene County judge has found an Ozark County mother not guilty in the death of her daughter.  Rebecca Ruud faced a first-degree murder charge in the death of her biological daughter, Savannah Leckie.

Judge Calvin Holden did find Ruud guilty of abandoning a corpse.

KY3 says Ruud faces up to four years in prison.

Holden says there was a lack of evidence in the case.

Ruud was charged with killing Leckie, then burning her body on an Ozark County farm.

The defense says Ruud placed the girl’s body in a burn pile but did not kill her.

Judge Holden retires as a judge on July 31.
