(KTTS News) — A trial is underway for a woman charged with the death of her biological daughter in 2017.
Rebecca Ruud was arrested after the remains of her daughter, Savannah Leckie, were found in a burn pile on her property in Ozark County.
Leckie was adopted at birth by a family in Minnesota, but later stayed in touch with Ruud, who was her biological mother.
Court records say Leckie did not get along with Ruud’s boyfriend.
The bench trial is being heard in Greene County.
