(KTTS News) — A bill in the Missouri Senate would rename the Jefferson City Bridge after Senator Roy Blunt.
The Missouri News Network says Senate Majority Leader Caleb Rowden originally proposed renaming the new I-70 Rocheport Bridge, set to open in 2024, but changed the bill after finding out the Rocheport bridge would be named after a Missouri veteran.
The name change would be paid for with private donations.
Blunt plans to retire when his term ends next year.
