House Bill Would Make Teachers Post Learning Materials Online

(KTTS News) — Some state lawmakers want to give more homework to teachers.

State Representative Adam Schwadron from St. Charles County is sponsoring a bill in the Missouri House that would require teachers to post all of their teaching materials online.

“I am not coming from a place of distrust. I’m just coming from a place of transparency, openness…making sure that people have the information necessary to make decisions for themselves.”

But State Representative Craig Fishel from Springfield says making teachers post all of their materials online would just cause some of them to quit.

The Missouri News Network says Schwadron’s bill would let parents sue school districts for up to $15,000 dollars if teachers don’t post everything online.

The bill comes at a time when some districts face criticism over what’s being taught on issues such as race.
