The Greene County Sheriff’s Office is dealing with staffing shortages ahead of the opening of the new jail.
The sheriff says he needs more than 60 detention officers, or the jail will have to stay locked down a lot more often.
KY3 says the sheriff’s office is taking applications.
The jail is expected to open on time.
The new jail on West Division will have more than 1,200 beds when it opens in April or May.
