Springfield Public Schools will return to a mandated mask policy for all faculty and visitors next week.
The requirement will last at least until February 4th.
KY3 reports the district ended its previous mask mandate in December after receiving a legal demand to do so from Attorney General Eric Schmitt. The cease-and-desist letter sent by the Attorney General did not apply to staff.
The district strongly encourages masking for students and will provide masks to those who need them.
Springfield Public Schools reported 530 cases of COVID-19 as of Wednesday.
