City Utilities line and contract line crews are working to repair damage from the storm that passed through our area earlier this evening.
Currently, approximately 4,400 electric customers are without electric service.
Crews are working as rapidly and as safely as possible to restore power to all customers.
Three areas in the service territory are completely “locked-out” meaning there is no service to any customers in those feeder areas. One is in southwest Springfield, another in southeast Springfield, and the other in north Springfield. These areas comprise a significant number of the outages.
The attached photo shows a damaged high-voltage line, belonging to a neighboring utility, that is creating the outage in southwest Springfield.
Crews will be working throughout the night to safely restore power to all customers who can accept service.
