The Central Polk County Fire Protection District is asking voters to approve a tax levy increase on November 2.
The 30-cent tax levy would be used to buy new fire trucks and equipment.
KY3 reports it would add about $300 in new taxes onto a $100,000 dollar property bill.
The district says its trucks are old and maintenance costs are eating up its budget.
