Springfield Police confirm one person is dead after a crash on Campbell and James River Freeway.
Robert Butler, a 59-year-old-man from Crane, was confirmed dead at the hospital late Thursday.
That morning, at 10:44, Springfield Police responded to a four-vehicle crash involves a Harley Davidson Motorcycle.
Investigators say the driver of a Toyota Corolla tried to turn onto southbound Campbell, when the motorcycle driver changed lanes and collided with the Corolla. The driver of the motorcycle was ejected, and was hit my a Ford Explorer, also heading south. The motorcycle continued to slide, and hit a Chevy Equinox.
No one else was injured.
Investigators say the speed of the motorcycle was a contributing factor in the crash.
