The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services says there’s a hotspot advisory for several counties in Southwest Missouri because of a surge in COVID-19 cases.
It includes Greene, Jasper, McDonald, Newton, and Barry counties.
The city of Joplin is also included.
The state health department is encouraging people to practice social distancing, wear a mask, get vaccinated, and wash your hands.
