The National Weather Service says severe storms will develop along the Missouri and Arkansas line this afternoon.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for areas along and south of I-44 until 8 p.m. Friday night.

Those storms will move northeast through southern Missouri, making severe weather possible through midnight tonight.
Strong winds, heavy rain and hail up to the size of ping pong balls will be the main threats.
There’s also a low threat for some isolated brief tornadoes.
