A man from Springfield is charged with kidnapping and domestic assault after authorities say he terrorized and threatened a woman for cheating on him.
Prosecutors say Steven Tygart asked the victim to meet him at his house Monday. When she arrived, Tygart confronted her about cheating on him, to which she confessed. Tygart said he used a GPS device on her phone to track her activity.
Tygart threatened to show his “criminal activities side” and pointed a gun at her for 15 minutes. He threatened to kill both her and her family members.
Court documents say he told the victim he had “his people” put a bomb in her car.
Tygart has described that line as a joke.
Tygart let the victim leave for work the next morning after getting belongings from her home. The police were then notified of the situation and Tygart was arrested Tuesday.
