Springfield City Council has endorsed a recovery plan that would eventually lift some of the coronavirus regulations currently in place.
The plan depends on a three-pronged approach that includes vaccinations, the 7-day average of new cases and the number of COVID-19 patients in Springfield hospitals.
Greene County is currently in the red phase, but the acting Springfield-Greene County Health director says if things continue to move in the right direction, the area could move into the yellow phase by mid-April.
Less than 12-percent of people in Greene County are fully vaccinated.
Once that number reaches 25-percent, the occupancy limits could be lifted for businesses.
And at 50-percent, mask requirements could be removed.
