After hours of tension between Capitol Police and Trump Supporters as supporters marched to the U. S. Capitol and entered the building, President Trump tweeted a video message urging for peace and everyone to return home.
“We have to respect our great people in law and order,” the President said while still maintaining the election had been stolen.
At least one armed standoff occured in the building. One person was shot, and it is unconfirmed whether that person was involved in the standoff.
One improvised explosive has been discovered near U. S. Capitol grounds.
