Approximately 70 Springfield residents are still without power after the freezing rain early Friday morning.
City Utilities spokesman Joel Alexander says some work is required to be performed by a licensed electrician, which is leading to longer waits. Alexander says their goal is to restore power and service to all their customers.
City Utilities started work at 1 a.m. Friday morning, and has been working ever since. The ice storm impacted around 50% of feeders, (lines going from substations to neighborhoods).
